What Is YouTube?

Social media is great collection of websites and apps that allows the sharing and receiving of data and information. YouTube is a famous kind of social media. This facilitates its users with not only the information but also the entertainment. On YouTube, videos of all classes are available. One can watch TV shows, dramas, plays, informative videos about science and religion etc. At present, millions of people are using YouTube.

Connection of Youth

The term Youth is connected to a group of persons whose age varying between 18 to almost 25-30(There is contradiction among different people in this number but average is stated here). Youth has a deep connection with You Tube. According to YouTube statistics, user percentage by age 18-24-(11%), 25-34-(23%). The young generation uses it in different ways. Some of these are given below:

• Some create their own channels and upload videos of different kinds.
•  Some other just watch videos of their own interest.
• Some make vlogs of different events and activities.

Advantages of YouTube For Youth

YouTube provides youth with a large number of advantages. A few are as follows:

• They can watch videos related to their studies that will be very beneficial in understanding and learning. One thing that comes in mind after going through this benefit is that, Google and Wikipedia are also available for this purpose then why YouTube for this purpose? The point is man’s nature is such that he can understand well by listening to somebody instead of only reading and knowledge is not about reading, it is about learning and performing practically. So, YouTube is one of the best ways for learning.
• Second main advantage is that it is a major source of earning. Although this is for people of all
  
  kinds but as young people are more eager towards innovation so they can earn more money by making videos of their own interest.
• It is a great source of earning fame. Youth encourages and likes YouTube celebrities. Many young people of Pakistan have gained fame through this platform. Some prominent are Zaid Ali T, Irfan Junejo and many more.
• Young people can convey their messages through this kind of Social Media.

One thing that should be kept in mind that although these advantages are apparently for people of all ages and classes but as young minds are more eager towards finding, developing and exploring interesting things so it is basically a great platform for them to quench their thirst of innovation.

Negative Impacts of YouTube

As there are both positive and negative impacts of everything, same is the case with YouTube.

Some disadvantages are given as:

• Youngsters are getting addicted to YouTube that is why they overuse it that results in not only the wastage of precious time but also weakness of their eyesight. They are falling prey to many diseases in the young age.
• Some people post inappropriate and vulgar materials that is destroying the moral values in the youth.
• Sometimes there is some material that encourages and promotes revolt or war that greatly affects the youth.

Conclusion

In short, YouTube is a great site for young generation to promote and digest new ideas and also provides such things that don’t let them to get bore. As there is nothing bad in this world but the   way you take it makes it good or bad. So Youth should use it properly and in a nice manner.
